Junior Group
The Junior Group - RATIONAL's own training company - was set up in 2020 to promote cooperation between technical and commercial trainees and dual students. It manufactures and sells grills and accessories.
By working independently, the members of the Junior Group assume responsibility, make decisions and actively contribute to the success of the group.
In the training workshop, the technical apprentices take care of the entire grill production process. In the commercial area, the work is divided between a strategic and an operational team. The strategic team is responsible for long-term projects such as marketing and event planning, while the operational team organises the day-to-day business, such as invoicing, collecting the grills and keeping the cash book.
Social projects
An essential part of training at RATIONAL is social commitment. Our aim is for every trainee to take part in a social project at least once during the programme and to make a contribution to the region. In addition, social projects promote team development and cohesion, add variety to the daily work routine and provide new insights into other fields of activity outside of industry. These experiences are not only valuable for professional development, but also for personal development. In the past, for example, we have built and painted fences for a local riding school and built a garden shed for the kindergarten's toys. For an animal sanctuary, we have built raised beds, painted the garden shed and built large shelters for the animals living there. The feedback from the trainees is consistently enthusiastic. They particularly appreciate the opportunity to work creatively on projects, meet new people and do something useful at the same time - helping people and animals is a particularly fulfilling experience.
Integration in training
The issue of integration also plays an important role at RATIONAL. In 2015, for example, the entry qualification for the profession of metal technician was offered for the first time. With this skilled occupation, RATIONAL enables two to four young people from a wide range of backgrounds to enter the world of work every year. This not only ensures a new generation of skilled workers, but also strengthens cultural diversity and attracts motivated apprentices. To support apprentices individually and overcome any language barriers, they can take language courses and receive support from our trainers that goes beyond traditional training. After completing the two-year training programme to become a metal technology specialist, apprentices also have the opportunity to extend their training by a further year. This allows them to successfully complete their training as industrial mechanics. Thanks to the excellent work and commitment of the training team, RATIONAL was awarded the 2022 Integration Prize by the government of Upper Bavaria.
