How does the application process for the RATIONAL young talent programme work?
The application process currently consists of three rounds of interviews. An initial interview via Microsoft Teams with the relevant People Partner, a second personal interview with a potential manager and a final interview with the relevant divisional manager.

Are there any mandatory placements or how is the placement plan developed?
No, the first placement is usually needs-based and will be determined before you start. We plan all further placements together throughout the programme. We do this through regular 'pit stop' meetings. The junior employee's interests and the company's needs play a role in planning the placements.

Can I complete a placement from another programme?
Yes, you can.

In which countries can I spend my time abroad?
Depending on the programme, it is currently possible to spend time abroad in France, the UK, the USA, China, Japan, Austria, Canada, etc.

What training opportunities are available?
We offer our junior employees a broad training programme with cross-functional training. Each junior employee has the opportunity to complete two of these training courses per year. Examples of this include: Workshop facilitation, negotiation, project management or even technical leadership.

Junior employee today, tomorrow...?

Benjamin Drischberger joined RATIONAL AG in February 2013 after completing his studies in information-oriented business administration. As a junior employee, he passed through various departments, including Group Controlling and Operational Sales Controlling, as well as project management at our subsidiary in New Delhi. Today, he is Senior F&A Director BDC Asia and looks back on his time as a junior employee as follows:
“During my young talent programme at RATIONAL, I was thoroughly prepared for an international career. I had the opportunity to work on exciting projects that gave me valuable practical experience and insight into commercial business processes. My time abroad in India was particularly formative. During this time, I not only broadened my professional skills, but also gained important international experience. It strengthened my intercultural skills and prepared me well for the challenges of a global working environment. The rotation between different processes also created a strong network from which I still benefit today.”
