SAP Inhouse Consultant do?

SAP Inhouse Consultant do?

That's what we asked Evelin K., an SAP Inhouse Consultant at RATIONAL.

That's what we asked Evelin K., an SAP Inhouse Consultant at RATIONAL.

What does an SAP Inhouse Consultant do at RATIONAL?
Firstly, I am responsible for second- and third-level support. That means that if one of my customers has a problem, they come to me and we find a solution for it.
This can be system errors or breakdowns or the adaptation and expansion of an existing process. But also projects around new processes e.g. due to changes in legal requirements of individual countries, IFRS adjustments or changed business requirements.
It is a colorful mix of tasks that never gets boring.

Why do you like working in this position at RATIONAL?
My customers are the internal users. They are not just in Germany but spread all over the world thanks to our subsidiaries. I like this international cooperation and the exchange with my global colleagues. In addition, I am far less regulated at RATIONAL than at a large corporation, for instance. This gives me greater freedom in finding solutions, and I can make decisions independently, always in coordination with the other modules, of course.
For example, I am responsible for my own system transports up to the point of going live. This is a big responsibility, but it gives me a lot of freedom and flexibility and allows me to react quickly.
Good, respectful cooperation is also extremely important at RATIONAL. People are supportive and colleagues take the time to help each other, even in stressful situations. People greet each other in the hallway and it's not unusual for a conversation to ensue. As a mother, I am of course also happy about offers such as the children's day, vacation care and, in general, a certain flexibility in the working day through regulations such as flexitime and home office.

Do you have a favorite project?
Managing an eInvoicing project, i.e. communication with the authorities at document level in Mexico and Brazil, was great fun. Especially the cooperation with the colleagues and teams on-site was great and worked out very well.

What do you need to get started as an SAP Inhouse Consultant at RATIONAL?
Of course, specialist knowledge of SAP, an overview of the modules and the connections with the other modules and, above all, in-depth knowledge of your own module are the basics. You become part of a high-performing team. This means that you can really push things forward and actively take on responsibility. Large parts of our work happen as a team or in cooperation with our external service providers. This requires a certain level of communication and presentation skills. You should also be able to find creative solutions, be open to new ways of thinking and enjoy your work - this is how you achieve the best results anyway.
