  • Formula Student is a worldwide design competition in which colleges and universities compete in automotive races. The special feature: the teams - consisting exclusively of students - plan and build the racing car from scratch. This includes not only the vehicle itself, but also a corresponding business plan. There are three categories of racing: Combustion engine cars, electric race cars and autonomous vehicles. The racing car uses various sensors and cameras to recognize the unknown track marked with cones.

Cool thing, we think, at RATIONAL. It gives the students a chance to get a taste of the real project management world - or as Tobias from Starkstrom Augsburg says: "There's no point in the electrical engineers planning something that the mechanical engineers can't get into the car.
