SUMMARY

The Warehouse Support – Inbounds Lead’s primary responsibility to ensure and maintain the highest standards for receiving and recording the inbound goods at Rational USA. This includes continually improving our inbound receiving and order process and reorganizing the freight and parts area to maximize pick efficiency.  Effective communication with other leads and leadership is required. The inbounds lead is the process owner of all things related to inbound goods, and performs duties related to order shipping and receiving and day-to-day warehouse operations.  This job is based at the North American Distribution Center in Elgin, IL

 

DUTIES include but are not limited to:

  • Unload, check in, communicate with others and monitor the inbound delivery of goods for the North America Distribution Center (NADC).
  • Extreme ownership of all incoming goods, organization of warehouse, and inventory tasks related to tasks in freight and service parts. Must perform audits, process improvements and lead by example. 
  • Ensures all warehouse racking is full at all times, flow of goods is efficient, and designs layout where goods can be easily found and picked. 
  • Training and development of warehouse staff on how to receive goods, close out containers, organize and perform Lean 6-S audits. 
  • Implement and Maintain checks and balances to ensure all goods are posted, and double checked to be received in SAP. 
  • Schedules containers, communicates unloaders, assists with unloading, checks but verifies works of others related to incoming goods. 
  • Run and analyze incoming goods reports in SAP, in transit reports and communicates the information to leadership. 
  • Pick’s customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or transports orders to packing station or shipping area.
  • Operates lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Sorting of incoming materials and understand how to use the bar code system
  • May perform other responsibilities when required.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have working knowledge of freight processing software (i.e., UPS). Forklift Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English, including ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one situations.
  • Basic proficiency in computer usage and office automation tools such as SAP and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
